Come journey with us!

            This summer the Olympic Games are being held in Paris, France. Here at Delaware County Libraries, we’re getting ready with our popular Journey Across Delco program. As participants travel from library to library, they will learn about some of the sports that are played during the summer games. Each library will be spotlighting a different sport, so visit as many as you can.

            Start your journey by picking up a game sheet from your local library or downloading one from the Delaware County Libraries website at https://www.delcolibraries.org/journey-across-delco. Each library will be displaying a poster with an Olympic pictogram. On your game sheet, write the library’s name on the corresponding line of the matching pictogram to decode the secret message. While you’re visiting, pick up a brag tag and try to collect them all!

            Participants also have the opportunity to earn special gold, silver, and bronze brag tags depending on the number of libraries they visit! At the end of the summer turn in your game sheet to receive one of these special brag tags. Visit five to ten, you earn the bronze. Eleven to sixteen will earn you silver, and seventeen or more will get you a gold brag tag.

            “We are thrilled to offer Journey Across Delco again this year,” said Cheri Crow, Youth Services Coordinator for Delaware County Libraries. “This is always one of our most popular county-wide programs and with the Summer Olympics happening this year, it is a great opportunity to learn about the sports that we’ll be watching on TV.”

            We hope you will join us for Journey Across Delco this summer. The program will run June 19 through August 7 and kicks off with a special Junteenth brag tag at Delaware County’s annual Juneteenth event in Rose Tree Park from 4-7pm. See you at the library!
