Breaking Language Barriers: Library Card Application Goes Multilingual

As a result of work being done by Delaware County Libraries' Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Task Force, the Delaware County Libraries card application is now available in 10 additional languages including Spanish, German, Hindi, Urdu, Chinese Simplified, Bengali, French, Korean, Vietnamese, and Arabic. A special thank you to Michael Sheehan from the Lansdowne Public Library for his Spanish translation. The other nine translations were done by Global Arena, a local company based in Radnor with 25 years of language service experience.

This project is one step towards accomplishing the first goal of our strategic plan, which is "to reach patrons in unserved areas of Delaware County," so that all residents can have equal access to library services. The translated applications can be found on our website and may be printed and taken to any of our 28 locations to receive a library card.
